1. Search materials in other University libraries
If the library doesn’t hold the material you need, we search whether other University libraries hold it at the Reference desk.
2. Issue a Letter of Introduction
You need a letter of introduction issued by the library if you would like to use the material in other University libraries. Please apply and fill out the form at Reference desk with a hard copy of the CiNii Books search result of the material. Please ask Reference desk for detail.
3. Request for photocopy from other University libraries
You may request and get the photocopy of the material other University libraries hold by post. Please fill out "Interlibrary loan (ILL) request for photocopy form” equipped at the Reference desk with necessary information, and submit. You need to bring a hard copy of CiNii Books or CiNii Research search result screen of material you need to the Reference desk for this application. Please ask Reference desk for detail information. You are able to request for photocopy of the collections in National Diet Library by yourself after you register. You have to pay photocopy fee and postage.

4. Request for sending a book from other University libraries
You may request to send the book which Sophia University Library doesn’t hold by interlibrary loan system. You cannot request to University libraries located in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, and Chiba prefectures except for the library of Keio University(Mita media center, Hiyoshi media center, and Shonan Fujisawa media center), Hitotsubashi University, United Nations University, and Institute of Developing Economies. You may use obtained book only within Central Library during the Reference desk service hours. Please fill out “Interlibrary loan request (ILL) for a book form” equipped at the Reference desk with necessary information, and submit it with a hardcopy of CiNii Books search result screen of the item to the Reference desk. You need to pay postages for sending. Please ask Reference desk for detail information.
