For User affiliated with partnership Universities of Sophia University Library

Sophia University Library has concluded a library partnership agreement with following Institutes. For information how to use Sophia University Library, please refer below.

1. Partnership institutes

  • Libraries of Japan Association of Catholic Universities
  • Academic Information center of the Jikei University school of Medicine
  • German Institute for Japanese Studies Library (Please apply for library user card via institute you belong to before you visit Sophia University Library)
  • United Nations University Library
  • Library of Institute of Developing Economies (IDE)
  • Keio University library (Mita media center, Hiyoshi media center, and Shonan Fujisawa media center) and Hitotsubashi University library (book lending only)

2. Admission to the Library

Please tell purpose for visiting to the staff in reference counter near the entrance. Visit library during service hours of reference counter (generally weekdays 9:00~ 17:00). Present your ID (student/faculty/staff ID card) at reference counter. ※Please check opening hours and service hours at schedule page on library homepage before you visit. ※Outside user cannot use library neither on Saturdays nor on Sundays though it is open.

3. How to use the library

Browsing

Both books and periodicals are shelved open-stack. Please take a look at them freely.

Catalogs

You can check both holding and location information of material by OPAC (Online catalogue).

Photocopying

Please use self-photocopy machine when you would like to make a copy of material.

4. Other information

Affiliated with German Institute for Japanese Studies, United Nations University, or Institute of Developing Economies, you can also borrow books. Please consult with counter staff of the institute you belong before you visit.
